What a weathery day! We woke up to freezing rain/sleet coating the snow that had fallen yesterday. Hubby shoveled and salted everything before he headed in to work, and I went out twice this afternoon to shovel up the melting ice to get it out of the way before everything freezes solid tonight. This is three days and counting for being homebound for my son and I! There is just no sense in us

Okay, I love this show and just had to type that, plus it is back on NBC, on Friday nights, I encourage everyone to watch it. I grew up in a small town where high school sports ruled, and so much of it rings true.

Today has been one of those days so far, big events on the national level like the Inauguration, and little ones here at home like me finally putting away stacks of paper from the Turkey Blowout sale and Sizzix dies, prepping my album for the 2009-365 project, and getting my Spellbinders submission sent in. Whew!
Luckily, my hubby came home at lunch and brought home some all American hamburgers

I am typing this up as I scan some old family photos I found last night. I am trying to keep up to date on scanning these pictures from my childhood, last summer I scanned all the OLD family pictures I could get and saved them on both CD and a flash drive. Now I have some photos from the late 1960's so I am starting the same process with them. I used those scans to print the heritage

My hubby is assembling another cabinet for my crafting 'stuff' for me right now. That is the main reason I am sitting here rather than working at my desk. I am anticipating getting some of my CS paper and Sizzix dies put away in this cabinet before the new PSL season starts, so I might actually have a semi-tidy workspace to use. I am watching the first season of Deadwood on DVD, a series I have wanted to see since it came out. As a historian, I love how realistic things in the show are; dirty steets, drug addicts, foul language, class and ethnic conflicts, greed, murder etc. Such a change from the Westerns I grew up watching that were so clean and scenic! Tonight for dinner we had tofu soup, one of my favorite healthy meals. All you need is tofu, broth, sesonings, and leftovers from the refrigerator. Tonight I added carrot, portabella mushrooms, edamame, lo mein noodles, and some pork loin. So delicious on a cold, blustery day. Just uploaded a couple of cards I managed to finish today. I am experimenting with Spellbinders die cutting and am going submit to their design team contest this month. I am doing this to challenge myself, not with any real anticipation of actually being selected to be on the design team! I want to push myself a bit and it has been nice to have a deadline and 'assignments', kind of like PSL

Yesterday afternoon I had had it with all the pain from my newly installed crown and called my dentist. Thankfully they fit me in yesterday (and my husband could leave work early to watch our son) and they ground it down again. It feels a bit better, but I still have spikes of pain up my jaw to the top of my skull. Fun!
