Inspired by Kay's Valentines...

Posted by: KnitterPam in Untagged  on

Well, that is about the fastest I have ever acted on inspiration from a blog, I think.

vday

Kay posted her cards on a blog entry that I just read TODAY and I literally got up and made some similar cards right away! I used a similar color scheme, though I mixed in a bit more pink because that is what I had nearby. The background love collage stamp is from the Vday/Love kit from 2011, the main stamp is

Handmade Sticker Tape

After reading Donna Lee's and JulieH's posts about creating their own stamped and colored papers, similar to the collections Kay Williamson created for a retreat a few years ago, my mind was buzzing with ideas. Then, yesterday afternoon while reading a Scrap-n-Stamp Arts magazine during my kiddos' taekwondo practice, I read an article entitle The Frugal Crafter. It showcased ideas on how to make

We Are Aware Cards, Retreat Oct '11

Attendees of Club Scrap's 2011 Retreats were sent an extra stamp set ahead of time, in order to encourage folks to make cards for a local hospice organization. It was entitled We Are Aware, and here are the cards I made using the set. Details can be found in the Galleria. The above set was my personal favorite!  :)

The colors are pretty off, but the teal in these cards is from scraps of Mosaic

Resist Experiments

Resist experiments

Recently I saw a stepped-out tutorial on www.mixonmatch.com (a website by one of our own members, Cheryl Mixon) where Julie Heyer was showing some cool ATC backgrounds using clear-embossed resists, Club Scrap noise stamps, and various Glimmer/Memory Mists.  I decided to experiment a bit with some stamps in my own CS collection - and voila! It was a bit like making wallpaper.

From L to R, the

Tricia, that is the coolest deal!  I tried out the Scholarship ALCM instructions (found in the Free ALSB section) using a Club Stamp paper pack.  I wanted to make some holiday cards, so I found some Haberdashery Cst paper I bought on sale earlier this year - I  think I may have paid all of $2.00 for this paper pack.  Seriously.  TWELVE cards for $2.00.  The mind boggles.

Anyway, I substituted

Holiday Cards for a Workshop

Holiday Workshop Cards

I made these cards for a recent FFC workshop I taught.  We made 3 puzzler cards using the Peace on Earth stamp.  I admit, I cheated.  I taught them how to cut the pieces, adhere them to the carpet tape, and then we stamped on top with India ink. It looks very nice and I didn't have to worry about the image lining up.

The Noel and Joy cards were made by spritzing water on a WM stamp (a stencil

A Devastating Weekend

Posted by: KnitterPam in Untagged  on

I don't have a picture to post, at least not one I took myself.  All that happened to me was LOTS of rain.  But my town, and the major city we live near, was devastated this weekend.  It felt like Katrina happened here.  I'm sure there were quite a few people who moved from New Orleans to Nashville after Hurricane Katrina, thinking "Oh, Nashville is safe.  Nothing but a few tornadoes here and

Another Herringbone Card...

I just LURVE this technique.  Really can't get enough.  And to use up leftover sticker strips, scraps and tags from a kit that I'm nearly done with?  Excellent!  Note to self: must buy more Jumbo POPs - those things are great!  Reach in, fold, add a few embellies and VOILA! instant card!  Best deal on the planet! Another note to self: must! stop! using! so! many! exclamation! points!!!!

Album Case - Home Sweet Home

Album Case - inside

album case

Oh, I just can't wait to give this album case project to my SSIL/SBIL in a few days at Xmas!  Seriously, I am so pleased with this.  They bought a new house this summer, so after looking at Terri's Retreat examples, I thought this album case would be great for them.  I downloaded pictures of the new house and their family off Facebook, believe it or not, printed them, and was ready to go in just

A Last Minute Xmas Card

Xmas Card

I had a few last minute cards to make - I found I was a few short as I was putting teacher gift together.  So I pulled some POPs and a mixed bag of GTG and went to work.  The base is Academy burgundy, the panel is text weight kraft from TYWL, stamped with Joyful UM image in Fuschia (CS Hybrid ink) and edged with Leaf, and the tag is from Groovy Christmas (07).  Quick and
