i'm not exactly sure why i can not just follow the directions.
always gotta make it bigger better stronger faster. my dad did that too. sometimes he'd fix things that weren't even broken.
i took the May 09 stampers project and covered it with metal. because i wanted to. it was just what the bathroom needed. in that one corner. something not huge, something to soften it a bit.
here it is. you can

i just had to take one for a test drive.
Jac designed this project, and taught the class, but i didn't get to take the class or make a sample. so when i ran across the kit yesterday, i just hadda do it.
and i was smart enough to have my camera tethered to my neck at the time. wanna see?
ok. here we go. in the package. already i am intrigued.
i love a project that has weight. un-bag it and check

just got back from a delightful 11 days with my bff in sunny Phoenix. and this morning i wake up to THIS?
impossible.
wow.
speaking of W.O.W. ......i happened to stop in at the clubhouse yesterday to say hi and pick up the latest prints and goodies and such...and i catch wind of this new thing, this W.O.W. thing. hey tricia, what is it?
well, she says, it's a weekend of workshops, via the virtual

tricia said i could blog about the fall retreats, but that i could only speak in riddles.
fall is my favorite time of the year. but that doesn't even matter. the retreats are held indoors. and if retreaters really think they are going to have time to sight see...well, i'd like to know if they plan on going 3 days without sleep.
even jack bauer calls it quits after 24 hours.
oh wait. i'm crackin'

not that i thought it needed a makeover, i just had this idea of something i wanted to make. and, well, if i do say so myself...it worked.
thought i'd share it with you.
the Paper Veneer Project.
this is the original.
and this is the makeover. it uses all the same materials, i just tweeked it a little. oh, and i did add another paper or two, but you can do this with the materials in the kit.

ok,

and this particular collection has a whole lotta get up and GO!
love these bright colors, very lively, very smile inducing.
check 'em out Club Scrap's Greetings to Go!!! this collection is available in two cool color combos. each collection provides enough materials to create 15 cards (and the envelopes are included too)
whoops, a little blurry on the first shot. sorry.

i thought i'd take you

one of the coolest things about working at Club Scrap is the ability to talk them into letting me revisit an 'oldie but goodie' just because i wanna.
[keep reading, i promise, there are pictures.]
i love Club Scrap's stitch bound journal. it's easy, and it's quick. but better than that, it's feels like a real book when you hold it. i love the way it opens all the way up, and lays flat. that's one

yup, i blame it on the mess.
as i was finishing up the salsa/jubilee layouts, and was attempting to clean up (gasp) i saw another combo. sheet of Birds of a Feather blue was hiding beneath a stack of Jubilee pinks....

i had originally pulled out these pics of Greta for a Jubilee layout, and even though the colors were a perfect match, i kept thinking it just looked too heavy, maybe this wasn't the

oh yes, that Big&Tall unmounted alphabet, i might have to put it on my list of things i would have to have on the deserted island. (they would totally work for stamping messages in the sand....)
AND....labeling stuff!!!!
check this out, i was sooo happy to have finally found the right sized container that i could keep right by the cat dishes, not too big, not too small, generally airtight, and

and they had a blast!
sometimes its good to leave your work table a mess. if i hadn't, i would have never put these papers together!

the Jubliee Dark Pink crawled out from under the Salsa Orange...it kinda went like this: HEY, hey hey hey, whoa, that's cool! and then i changed the entire layout from a one page to a two, so that i could use more pink on it.
here's a few more detail shots.
