One of our listeners (my sister and I do a podcast, y'know) sent me a link to the Burger King scent website. It's a hoot. I recommend watching it, but not if you've got a mouthful of a beverage.

I watched that a week ago. Or more. Then today when I woke up, all I could think about was Whoppers. Or really, a Whopper Jr. The summer I graduated from high school, my

Ten years.
Actually, it's more like 12 years.
The last real snow I remember experiencing in my part of East Tennessee was in February of 1996. I am pretending that we had more snow since then, which is why I said ten or twelve years. I'm really not sure. But we do not get real snow here any more, and we haven't had snow in so long that I can complain about it pretty much non-stop from October until

I hesitate to confess how much shopping I've been doing the last couple of days. I guess I just didn't get enough during the holidays. I need to order more paper from the GHM! Dept. -- good heavens above, how much do I adore the GHM! Dept.? Too much, don't ask. Anyway, I am on a quest to make some cards and stuff. I have a hankering for black and white cards, and while I was contemplating my

Y'know, sometimes I can't wait to get at the computer and start blogging, and sometimes it's a terrible chore to decide what to write about. Themes stink. I should make a big list of possible themes, throw 'em in a jar, and pull 'em out when it's time to blog. That might get me to stick to one topic at a time. Because if I think about it too much and come up with all the things I could rant

I went to the dentist yesterday for a quick little appointment. I've been getting major dental work done for the longest time. (My dentist from 1988 'til 2007, it turns out, was a total hack.) Yesterday's appointment was supposed to be fairly small and easy, leading up to my very last new replacement crown on a tooth that didn't appear to be in too bad shape... but y'know, it's hard to take an

As they say in "Showboat," ...
HAP-py New Year!!!!
I love New Year's Eve. I was one of those people who dressed up and went out every year in my youth. I would spend two or three months making the perfect plans, putting together the perfect outfit, finding the most sublime shoes... Only to kick those shoes off at 12:30 a.m. and walk around barefoot in the middle of the street.... but that's

No way. Somehow November is over and the long weekend is finished, too.
Man, time really does fly, doesn't it?
The only shopping I did on Black Friday was when I took my son to the electronics store so he could buy himself a digital camera with his birthday money. That's when my ancient version of Photoshop Elements decided to bite the dust. There's an error in the program and the CD is apparently

I can't decide what I want to do. I had almost convinced myself to go out for Black Friday's sales. But then I didn't find the perfect, fabulous bargain that had my name all over it.
(Unless, of course, you're looking at the GHM! Dept., in which case, everything made by Club Scrap has my name all over it.)
Anyway, I wuz gonna go out for the sales in search of a computer for my very well-behaved and

Here's a quickie --
Still doing research on puppy names. I have oodles of ideas. Then Saturday Night Live had a short, brilliant bit during Weekend Update about Zell Miller's endorsement of a Senatorial candidate named Saxby. The premise was that Zell, like most Southerners, has an affinity for unusual names.
That's when the writers pulled out all the stops and came up with a list of names so

I tried to compose this post last night, but it deteriorated into a whine-fest about how much I hate my ATG. (ATG = Adhesive Transfer Gun, a 3M product.) I know, I know, everyone else has a fabulous ATG and it works fabulously and when there were two and a half dozen bad ATG's produced last year, everyone got free replacements that worked.
Everyone except me.
My replacement sucks as badly as the
