So, I've been reading about this thing called "Project 365" for some time now. I loved the idea of photos and journaling about the everyday things in my life, you know, the daily minutae that you normally wouldn't document. Sure, we all scrapbook the "big stuff", like birthdays and holidays, but 20 years from now, will I remember that 2011 was the first December in six years we didn't have a white Christmas? Will I remember the phase my son, Max, went through where all he wanted to eat was "beige" food (you know, pancakes, chicken fingers, fries)? Or my daughter Emma's first "official" trip to the mall where she shopped with her own money? Probably not. Here I am a scrapbooker, and I'm ashamed to admit there are so many times where I've simply failed to take out the camera unless it was a "special occasion" (and wanted to kick myself later for missing something cool). But every day/week/month has special moments if we make the concious decision to document them, right?
I'm so inspired by people who take on the 365 project...to commit to taking a photograph every single day for a year. Now that takes dedication! And I've had the privilege to follow along as several members of the Community Coffeehouse have shared their own 365 journey. Knowing myself, however, I knew I wouldn't last long, lol. So, why not commit to the same project, but make it weekly, instead of daily? Sheesh, even I can do that!
So, long story, short (not really!), my new year's resolution is to take on the Weekly Chronicles challenge. I'll take at least one photo per week, create a scrapbook page, and add the journaling...right away...while it's still fresh in my mind...for the next 52 weeks. I'm kinda excited!
So, all you CS folks out there...whatdya think? Interested in joining me? It all starts on Monday, January 2. You can go here for more info.
