Pure and Simple Sumi ATCs and ATC Art Display by Neith

I had so much fun playing with the Sumi painting technique! I use my ATCs as business cards and I was running out so I went on a BIG ATC producing binge of almost 100 cards in  whole variety of papers/themes... the others still need to be scanned and written up, but there's a little sneak peek in here plus different Sumi designs on my blog!  I even wound up with some abstract ones that remind me of Zentangles!

Please visit my blog for different Sumi designs and a full description!   http://neithj.blogspot.com/2009/06/sumi-painting-atc-cards-and-display.html

Thanks!

Hmmm...maybe I should start doing ATCs as my card too. I don't know if I would have time to make that many...but I guess you just make duplicates, right?

Yup! Create a prototype (or 4) and use POPs smilies/smiley.gif I print my contact info onto the backside of a 5x7 POP (it works better for me to do the left half in one pass and the right half in another since my printer doesn't like the margins that I like) and chop it into 4 pieces. I tried ordering a permanent text stamp with my basic info, but they didn't copy and paste my text and wound up completely messing up my URLs smilies/sad.gif So I think I'll try to get one later from a more reliable place and then I can stamp onto some of the darker cardstock maybe, or just when I'm not working off of 5x7 pops smilies/smiley.gif

I usually try to show one special technique/product per ATC, but I never know what I'll come up with! smilies/smiley.gif Sometimes they get too complex, but they make me happy so I do as many as I can before I get frustrated! Typically I'll try to do batches of 40 (using 10 POPs) but it varies based on how much I have of other supplies or how many pieces I get per POP/Photo/print/remnants/etc. I also like to save scraps from when I do batches of cards, jewelry folios, ATCs, etc and then look at those scraps to get inspiration for other ATCs... like the Nature's Wonders one here that used thin scraps from other creations! smilies/smiley.gif Or the Salsa ones on the right, using scraps from the ones on the left smilies/smiley.gif
