Hangin' Out with Hot Chicks...

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. My "to do" list actually included cleaning my crafting area, but I got bored with that real quick and decided to make some fun cards, instead.

I pulled out the UM stamps from the 2011 Retreat and got to work. I just love the sassy sayings...they're great for those occasions that call for a more humorous card.

Card 1-OutsideCard 1-Inside

(I thought card #1 would work for one of my FIVE brothers-in-law...yes, the Mike-man is one of SIX boys).

Of course I had to get all 3 sheets of UM, because I couldn't decide on just one (or two, for that matter). It's very cool how all of the images and sayings work together...I like having options for both outside and inside the cards.

Card #2-OutsideCard #2-Inside

(I just love those little peeps, don't you?)

Card #4-OutsideCard #4-Inside

On this card I wanted a "family" of chickens, so I tried a little masking and it turned out great, I think. Then I remembered one of my old red Sizzix Dies from way-back-when which was an easter egg...voila...it was the perfect accent for the inside.

If you haven't gotten these UMs yet (and you have a warped sense of humor, much like I do!)...go on over to GHM and pick some up. You'll be glad you did!

These are so cool! I love seeing samples with this set. I love the stamps, but don't always make things that are off theme. Weird, I know! Is the last card a gatefold card? I never thought of doing a full sized gate fold panel, but boy does that look cool!

I think these are adorable - but you can't get me to buy - I picked them all up at retreat!

Yes, Deb...the 3rd card is a tri-fold or "gate" fold card. I love 'em, but I'm sometimes challenged as to how to decorate the narrow front panels, so many times I'll use a full-size panel. The benefit is that the inside right side of the gate fold can hold an additional "suprise" message, like this one:

I cropped out the left panel, but you can see where I embossed the egg and stamped the sentiment on the right flap.
