Well, as of late there has been so much emphasis put on being "green" and repurposing things that we would normally throw in the trash. Well I bought Velveeta the other day for my family because they wanted really good creamy Mac and Cheese and let's face it, Velveeta is the way to go. So when I went to throw away the box, I thought, hmmm, this bottom piece is pretty sturdy, I bet I could alter it and make it look good.
So I grabbed some of my favorite paper created by the fabulous Kay Williamson for the Slider Frame Project in RIAB 09, and went to work. First I painted the whole piece with the Blick Black Matte acrylic paint and cut pieces of the paper to fit the two long walls and then two pieces to wrap from the front to the inside of the short walls.
I was really happy with how it turned out and knew it would make the perfect ATC holder. Next step, after the piece sat bare for a few days, was to decorate. Let's face it, that is my favorite part. So I grabbed some flowers cut from pops, grungeboard, found objects like buttons, glitter glue, inks etc... and went to town.
I even added a few feet using some little wood plugs that I painted the same color black.
So know, the next idea I had, being a CS Crafter, would be to hold a Going Green workshop. I think this type of idea is so part of our culture these days that everyone might be really open to a project of this type. So the idea is to take an object we have around the house, and alter it. What fun!

Thanks for stopping by!
