First Workshop

is history.  It happened.  Snow held off, heat was working, and two women showed up.    It was fun, but I need a lot more practice!    Was very glad it was so small this time.  Too much to say!    Tried to keep it as short & simple as possible, but it was hard not to sound like a salesperson.     It will be nice to have a couple of members along at my next one, so they can also sing the praises of CS, not just me!  They both seemed impressed with the idea of ALSBing and the quality of CS papers.  Finances are the big obstacle for these two however.  Hoping one will decide to host - she's thinking about it!    It's a slow start, but I am happy that I've inspired these two women who've been wanting help getting back into scrapbooking.  They admitted they weren't happy with what they've done in the past.   CS to the rescue!

That is fantastic. I was worried about your weather. Slow and steady wins the race, right? Congratulations on getting your feet wet in FFC.

That was something I learned too! There is SO much to tell about CS, it's hard to parse it down into something that fits into a 60-90 min workshop! Just be honest and sincere about what you love. If they ask you for details, that's when you add that info into the conversation. And patience - I had a gal who wasn't sure about a monthly club, but she came back for the past 6 months, and finally just joined. The financial savings finally made sense to her, after she saw the difference between a $15 ALSB with no frills, and a $18.95 JR kit with lotsa stuff! Yay! Go Marsha! It'll get easier every time and you'll get your spiel down after a bit.

Marsha, I am so happy to hear that your first workshop is under your belt! It sounds like it was a huge success! The sales pitch will sound less like one after a while I am sure. I was saying mine in my head at 3am last night when I was woken up and couldn't fall back to sleep! smilies/wink.gif
I am sure these 2 gals will really get into it especially if they can host a workshop and get some goodies free or 50&#xof;f!

Atta girl. So glad you reported back! I'm sure in no time it will be so natural and spontaneous and you'll do great things!
