Extra! Extra! Transparency Shows Up In My Valentine Projects.

I've always been a little sweet on our Extra! Extra! Transparencies and for just over a buck each, why not include them in my Valentine projects?

I came across this heart stencil from CS January 2007 and used it with black and pink acrylic paint. Of course just painting a heart shape free-hand on the backside of the transparency would work too. Also thinking that a nice thick Shapie would have done the job well too for the black heart outline.
So after the black heart-shaped outline (painted on the wrong side of the transparency!) was dry, I added the pink paint, also on the wrong side.

I didn't worry about staying in the lines or making my painting look to pretty because you really can't see how bad my painting is when the transparency gets flipped to the right side.

Once the paint was dry I flipped it over and attached to my card front with mini brads. Sweet!

Another transparency card below, well who could stop at just one? They are like potatoe chips to me.

More hand cut hearts found below and on top of the transparency on this one.

While thinking Extra! Extra! Transparencies, thought I put together this Valentine's Day Party layout.

I used the DIY Kraft Print as my base, I just like the neutral kraft color and used the plain backside to layer the printed transparency onto. Then, grabbing another old favorite, I used the Textiles & Notions Pink Print for cutting out a large heart.

Then cut out the center of the heart, creating a heart-shaped frame for my layout.

It was fun to fill in the heart with trimmed pics from Marilee's school party and then have the cardstock frame cover the edges.

Now I have this outter pc left for a coordinating page.

I better go use it to make another page, can't waste it!
Thanks again for looking, have a great day.

... Kay, Once again you've amazed me. I don't know how you come up with all of the ideas you do, but I love them. And, it has gotten me into the Valentine mood, (which is my most favorite holiday) and I'm making all kinds of cards because I was inspired by your projects. I would love to be part of a Valentine swap next year. |
