I tried to compose this post last night, but it deteriorated into a whine-fest about how much I hate my ATG. (ATG = Adhesive Transfer Gun, a 3M product.) I know, I know, everyone else has a fabulous ATG and it works fabulously and when there were two and a half dozen bad ATG's produced last year, everyone got free replacements that worked.
Everyone except me.
My replacement sucks as badly as the original.
But that's not why I'm posting. I'm determined to put my bitterness behind me. Although the whole non-working ATG has seriously depleted my enjoyment of my crafting time. I'm not going to keep harping on it. I swear. I can move on.
Seriously.
So today is the beginning of the Thanksgiving week, and instead of having dinner at my house, we'll be going to my MIL's house. Last year she called me and told me not to bring the dish for which I am most famous (green beans and horseradish "glop"). Then when all the guests asked where that dish was, Louise chimed in pointedly, "Yes, Bay, how COULD you [deprive us]?!?" as if she had never banned the beans herself.
But I'm not going to harp on that, either.
(Maybe instead of "craving creativity," I should entitled this post, "witching and moaning.")
I'm going to let go of all my old resentments and complaints. I'm going to make a concerted effort to find things that are happy and soothing. I'm going to turn off the TV, turn on some happy podcasts, and I'm going to stamp. Simply and without fanfare. I'm going to stamp even if it kills me.
Which it might.
Because, y'know, paper cuts can get infected, and with all the MRSA bacteria floating around the world, we could all kick the bucket any day now.
But I'm not gonna think about that today. Nope. Today is all about the good.
Man, I'm glad I can find ways to distract myself!

... anything that has the words, Green Beans, Horseradish and glop in it HAS to be good! How could she ban that? and then make it look like it was all you? sheesh. I think you're on the right track though with your determination to find the good and get some "stamping" in. That can be therapeutic too! |

... Bay, I too have had trouble with my ATC gun. It worked fine for awhile and no the tape gets all caught up. It is a pain. I wonder if it isn't the gun but the batch of tapes that I bought last summer and am still using. Things like this can put one in a bad mood. I am glad you are getting your self out of that mood. How about those Christmas tags? Aren't they cute? Pat |

... Hey Bay, You're entitled to vent frustrations so you just go for it. LOL I totally remember that whole Green Bean Horseradish story from last year and how incredibly restrained you were when your MIL acted as if she never told you not to bring it. I say bring 2 this year - 1 for the guests to eat and one to dump in her lap. |
