Bleach

I really like adding a subtle change to my art with bleach. I have a bleach pen, or a watercolor brush  filled with full strength bleach. I brush lightly and sometimes there is a big reaction.

Just like in the case in this card. I had a cut out from Simply Beautiful and the bleached areas turned light pink! It is a bit hard to see in the photo, but it is stunning.

Just a quick hint, when painting by adding bleach to areas, I use reverse logic from my regular water color painting. When I water color I have the more intense color in the dark shadowed areas, when adding bleach I have the most bleach added to the lightest areas- I hope that makes sense- enjoy!

Really cool technique. I haven't messed much with bleach. But after seeing Tricia, Hetty and you working with it, I might have to be brave and try it!

What a great idea to put bleach in the watercolor pen! Does it break down the bristles?

I have dedicated this pen for bleach for the last few years and have not noticed any difference with the bristles. The pen came in a set of three and sometimes I can't remember which one is the bleach one, but then I smell it or test it. I use it quite a lot.
