Now I have my very own little glow his holiday season with the WOW Christmas Lantern project ! It's fun to put together and also versatile with four translucent paper shades included for changing out with the seasons. Here is the holiday version I made stamped with the WOW UMs and then colored with the new Faber Castell Gelatos and a water brush.

With the battery operated candle included in the kit ON.

The shade is easily removed.

The translucent paper shade slides in and out of the diecut paper frame, so it's easy to change out the paper shade. About the translucent paper shades - there are four (one for each season if you wish) included in the kit, you score and decorate the paper shades to your liking.
Below is my coloring on the inside/wrong side of the translucent shade. As you can see my coloring is a little messy, but that doesn't show at all because it's on the inside. The stamped image is done first on the outside of the shade, and then flipped over to color. So it's the clean stamped image that shows most on the outside.

It was fun to create different looks on each shade by stamping and then flipping over to color on the wrong side, then a different approach was simply using dye inks on my leaf stamp (which of course I had to heat set to get dry faster like many inks stamped on translucent paper), and then lastly stamping in black and using my paper piercer to create a different look yet.
The first time I made the lantern, I used the brown paint included in the kit to paint the base (constructed from the precut book board pcs and CS Book Binding Glue) and also to paint the Ivory diecut shade frame. The second lantern I made, I decided to tear up music and glue onto the base for a different look.

As you can see, the lantern base has extra space for embellishing if you desire.

I hope those of you that are in for a "Weekend Of Workshops" enjoy this project! I hope it "lights up" your day!

Thanks for looking. Hope your holidays are illuminated!
