Where I will try to share a little corner of my life!

Maybe another resolution?

The last time I wrote a blog post here was in 2010???!!!

Wow.  Ok.  So that's not cool.  My plan here is to document a little more detailed what each of my Weekly Chronicle Layouts means to me.

I'm usually not much of a resolution person - I am always working to improve and do and be and ... yeah.  Try.  But since this was the challenge theme for the week, I decided to do a little more thinking

Fun Weekend coming up!!

Posted by: cnewell in Untagged  on

Tomorrow I get to head down to a crop - YAY!! I'm hoping to get a few pages done for the Walleye team while I'm there, and just visit with everyone in person.

My life is being a little topsy turvy lately, with Dave moving down to S. Cal (about 7 hours away) but we're trying to make the most of it.  Tomorrow after the crop, we will be meeting in Monterey and hanging out with William.

 On that note,

LFB swap pages

Posted by: cnewell in Untagged  on

As part of the Embellisher's team, we have set up a couple little fat book swaps to get to know each other better.  We have become very close through our challenge, so these books are just great memories of what a great group we are!

A Good News day!!

Posted by: cnewell in Untagged  on

Today, I received word via Facebook that my son (William, 19) has passed his PT test in basic training for the army, so he is officially done with boot camp and will be off, I believe, to Monterey to continue his training in language.

I had these pics printed for a while, and finally put them all in place tonight, adding in a couple other details to make it fit the 'three kit' theme for PSL this

It's the Weekend!!!

Posted by: cnewell in Untagged  on

So far today I've gone for my walk and mowed my front yard.  The kids washed the cars and did a few other chores around the house, and Dave cooked us all a good breakfast.

I'm hoping to get a few more pages done for PSL today as well as get the Castaway ALSB's done and ready for tomorrow.  Tonight is the Blue & Gold dinner for Zachary, his last time as a Cub Scout, so we'll be taking photos for

Fun with the PSL

Once again, I'm using the excuse of the PSL to actually get some scrapbooking done!!  As a team, we signed up to do a Little Fat Book swap, with the great idea of using a 1/2" border on one side so that we can bind them with our Bind-it-All if we choose.

I finished mine tonight, with the intention of having them count for this week's stamp challenge.

February almost half over??!!!

Posted by: cnewell in Untagged  on

I just can't believe, seriously, how fast time is going by lately.

This week, as an embellisher, I feel like I'm being torn in many directions.  I have my family stuff going on - something EVERY night this week.  I haven't gone to the gym at all since we've been too busy, with the time frame that all our things at night are taking place.  Tonight was finally the night that I found a little block

PSL - Week one is over!!!

And we won - the Embellishers team.  What a fun week we had getting to know each other through our layouts, as well!!  The first year that I did this challenge, I felt truly CHALLENGED sometimes - like with the stencils.  But now I have such a great collection, and they really do add a lot to the layouts - this is one that I 'whipped up' tonight for this week's

February already??!!

Posted by: cnewell in Untagged  on

I can't believe how fast time is going.  I've done so much already this year though - participating for a week in the PSL, I've contributed 13 2-page spreads for the embellishers!!  Today, instead of scrapbooking as I'd planned, we  ended up getting invited to a Super Bowl party instead.  So...I packed up some beads....finished off one necklace I had been working on....when I realized I shouldn't

Day 6 of 9 off - Merry Christmas

Posted by: cnewell in Untagged  on

Time has just flown by.  I had a great Christmas, and even got a little crafting time in.  This was one of the results.  I used the paper from the December kit for the plaid - just randomly drawing lines across the paper - LOVE how the whole card turned out!!

All in all it's been a great Christmas - run earlier in the day, great gifts, yummy brunch, hanging out all afternoon with a turkey dinner
