Sorry. We don't have the ability to be signed-in on the site anonymously. If you feel you absolutely need to be hidden at times you could set up another Neighbor ID using another email address and info that no one would think to be you and then just sign in with that Neighbor ID whenever you wanted to be 'hidden'. This would let you move around silently but you wouldn't want to start posting or do any actions with this Neighbor ID lest folks start to get the idea that it's you. (Then they'll start watching for that ID also and the cover will be blown.) If you’re just in the mood to read on the site, there is always the option of not signing in too. Of course if you do that, you won’t have access to your “My Place” tab and you won’t be able to post so your functionality while on the site will be considerably less.

We've built this site as a Community. It's got a real 'community' feel to it, so everything is out there for everyone to see all the time. We’re going for a "come and talk to me and look at all my stuff!" and "I want to learn all about you, Neighbor!" so we don't have much in the way of stealth. Of course you can always protect your personal in ways like leaving off your last name, not posting your home address or phone number, being careful of the info on the layouts you post in the Galleria, stuff like that. But in general, the whole site is geared to display that we're cozy Neighbors and here to visit and share.

So with this in mind, it's good for everyone to review their Neighbor ID info and see if they want to edit out any "too personal" information.
